  7. X-Station/340 is an optimized X Window server for graphics coprocessors. The
  8. software offers a full range of features designed to enhance any host
  9. system

  11. The software works in the following way: The server, executing a 34010 or 34020
  12. graphics processor, handles all graphics operations and X-requests; therefore
  13. freeing the host system to handle all other applications. By releasing the main
  14. CPU from sluggish, low-level graphics operations the user now has an improved,
  15. more practical workstation. When X-Station/340 is started on a system, the
  16. 340x0 is loaded with the X-Station/340 server. A second program is run on the
  17. host computer to handle all operating system requests for the 340x0. The host
  18. thinks of X-Station/340 as just another program, yet the user gets
  19. multiprocessing performance.
